“2G, 3G, and 4G Parties”: Amit Shah Slams Opposition At Key BJP Meeting

In a fiery address at the BJP’s national convention, Home Minister Amit Shah drew a vivid parallel between the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and the legendary Mahabharata war. He passionately portrayed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the vanguard of the BJP-led faction dedicated to the nation’s progress, comparing it with what he termed the “INDI alliance” dominated by familial politics and corruption within the Congress ranks.

Mr. Shah minced no words as he lambasted the opposition INDIA bloc for perpetuating dynastic and appeasement-driven governance agendas. The resolution “BJP: Desh ki aasha, vipaksha ki hatasha” (BJP: Country’s hope, opposition’s despair) became the focal point of his discourse.

Pointing fingers at the opposition, he derided them as “2G, 3G, and 4G” parties, symbolizing the entrenched lineage-based leadership prevalent in those parties. He hailed Prime Minister Modi’s comprehensive efforts towards societal upliftment and bolstering India’s global stature, confidently predicting the electorate’s unwavering support for a third term.

In a stark dichotomy, Mr. Shah juxtaposed PM Modi’s altruistic vision for the nation’s underprivileged with the opposition’s self-serving ambitions of dynastic succession. He called out prominent opposition figures like Sonia Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Lalu Prasad, and M K Stalin, portraying them as emblematic of a regressive political culture that prioritizes familial power dynamics over meritocracy.

Amidst fervent chants in support of PM Modi, Mr. Shah underscored the government’s initiatives aimed at uplifting the socio-economic conditions of millions who had previously been marginalized. He criticized the opposition’s perpetual resistance to progressive reforms, citing instances such as the abrogation of Article 370, the ban on triple talaq, the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, and even the construction of a new Parliament building.

Taking a swipe at the Congress, he highlighted its absence from the Ram temple consecration ceremony, attributing it to what he deemed as appeasement-driven policies. He concluded emphatically by asserting that the BJP’s ethos, contrary to the prevalent notion of familial politics, embraces meritocracy, exemplified by the meteoric rise of a humble tea-seller’s son to the nation’s highest office.
