Kejriwal’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21, amidst allegations pertaining to the excise policy case, has not dampened his resolve to address pressing matters affecting the city. His incarceration, slated until March 28, hasn’t deterred him from exercising his administrative responsibilities.
This recent directive follows Kejriwal’s earlier order, issued from ED custody, directing Water Minister Atishi to tackle grievances related to water and sewage in Delhi. Despite facing legal challenges, Kejriwal remains steadfast in his commitment to governance, leveraging his authority to ensure the welfare of Delhiites.
However, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has criticized Kejriwal’s directives, branding them as a ploy to elicit sympathy. BJP leader Harish Khurana dismissed Kejriwal’s actions as a theatrical attempt to play the victim card, questioning the sincerity of his motives.
Kejriwal’s arrest stems from his alleged involvement in the excise policy case, with accusations of soliciting kickbacks from liquor traders. The Enforcement Directorate, having summoned him multiple times for questioning, asserts Kejriwal’s pivotal role in the purported misconduct. Kejriwal vehemently refutes these allegations, attributing them to political vendetta orchestrated by the BJP-led Centre.
In response to Kejriwal’s arrest, AAP leaders have opted not to celebrate Holi as a mark of protest. Atishi emphasized the symbolic significance of Holi as a festival symbolizing justice over injustice, reaffirming AAP’s commitment to combating adversity.
As Delhi awaits further developments in Kejriwal’s legal saga, his directives from ED custody underscore his unwavering dedication to governance and public service, despite facing formidable challenges.
