Delhi Cop’s Quick Thinking Saves Unconscious Tourist
In the corridors of Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, a 63-year-old French citizen, Bertrand Patrick, experienced a sudden loss of consciousness, only to be rescued by a vigilant CISF personnel, as reported by a spokesperson for the force on Sunday. The CISF official disclosed that at approximately noon on January 26, Mr. Patrick, in line for security clearance for his Air Vistara flight to Paris, succumbed to unconsciousness within the security-hold area.
In a swift response, CISF Sub-Inspector Puneet Kumar Tiwari, stationed at the nearby x-ray scanner, hurried to the scene, delivering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to restore the man’s vital signs. This intervention proved successful as the distressed passenger regained consciousness under the diligent care of Sub-Inspector Tiwari.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, a medical professional stationed at IGI was promptly summoned. The doctor administered immediate treatment, and signs of improvement in Mr. Patrick’s condition soon emerged. Following a thorough assessment, the doctor deemed him fit to continue his journey.
The CISF official underscored the significance of the personnel’s alertness and timely actions, emphasizing that the swift response played a pivotal role in preserving a valuable life. CPR, an emergency life-saving procedure employed when the heart ceases to beat, was crucial in this instance.
It’s noteworthy that the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) shoulders the responsibility of providing counter-terrorist security coverage at the IGI airport, ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals within its purview.
