Modi took to X, formerly Twitter, to convey his wishes, stating, “I join the people of India in wishing speedy recovery and good health to His Majesty King Charles III.”

The diagnosis comes amid the monarch’s relatively short reign, succeeding the late Queen Elizabeth, the longest-serving monarch in British history. King Charles III’s official coronation took place on May 6, 2023.

Buckingham Palace released a statement, revealing that the cancer diagnosis was identified during a hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement. The King has commenced a schedule of regular treatments, prompting doctors’ advice to postpone public-facing duties. However, he will continue with State business and official paperwork during this period.

Expressing gratitude to his medical team for swift intervention, the statement emphasized the King’s positive outlook on the treatment and his anticipation of returning to full public duty at the earliest. The decision to share the diagnosis aims to prevent speculation and contribute to public understanding, especially for those worldwide affected by cancer.

World leaders joined in extending their well-wishes to King Charles III. UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak conveyed optimism for a full and speedy recovery, emphasizing the nation’s support. Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson echoed the sentiment, stating that the entire country stands behind the King.

US President Joe Biden acknowledged the challenges of navigating a cancer diagnosis and treatment, expressing hope for the monarch’s swift and full recovery. Biden expressed concern, announcing his intention to speak with King Charles III.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also joined the chorus of well-wishers, sending thoughts and wishes for a fast and full recovery to King Charles III.

As the global community unites in support, the focus remains on the King’s health and a positive outcome from the ongoing treatment.
