Marjorie Taylor Greene Blames Biden’s Policies for Laken Riley’s Death
During his speech, President Biden attempted to address the initiatives “Say Her Name Laken Riley” and “STOP THE BIDEN BORDER CRISIS,” led by Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene. However, a moment of confusion arose when Biden mistakenly mentioned ‘Lincoln Riley’ instead of ‘Laken Riley,’ leading Greene to accuse, “Joe Biden’s policies killed Laken Riley. He finally tried to say her name, but couldn’t even say it correctly. It’s an absolute disgrace,” as tweeted by MTG after the speech concluded.
The Laken Riley Act, passed by the House earlier on Thursday, mandates the imprisonment of any immigrant found guilty of theft or burglary. The bill received support from every Republican who cast a ballot, along with 37 House Democrats.
Biden’s Immigration Stance and Laken Riley Mention Spark Controversy
President Biden acknowledged the death of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old allegedly murdered by an undocumented immigrant, turning her tragic story into a rallying point for conservatives. However, the mention of Riley’s name during the address seemed tied to advocating for Biden’s migration bill.
In response, Senator Katie Britt criticized Biden’s immigration stance, emphasizing the importance of secure borders, stable prices, safe streets, and a strong defense for a great nation.
Marjorie Taylor Greene Takes Aim at Nancy Pelosi
Following the State of the Union, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene took to Twitter to criticize Nancy Pelosi’s response to her confrontation with President Biden. MTG accused Pelosi of prioritizing Biden’s terminology over acknowledging Laken Riley, stating, “Nancy Pelosi didn’t acknowledge Laken Riley; rather, she was more concerned with Biden referring to her murderer as an ‘illegal’ and not ‘undocumented.'”
Greene continued her attack on Biden, alleging that she handed him a pin to remember Laken Riley, but he refused to “Say Her Name,” emphasizing the emotional confrontation during the address.
The unfolding events have ignited a heated debate, with Biden’s immigration policies and the handling of Laken Riley’s case becoming contentious focal points in the ongoing political discourse.
