Opposition Protest

The opposition MPs, in protest of the mass suspension, held mock House proceedings at the Makar Dwar of the new parliament building. The demand for a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah on the security breach remains a central point of contention.

VP Dhankhar’s Reaction

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar termed the incident “ridiculous and unacceptable.” He expressed dismay over the mimicry, calling it a violation of decorum and a shameful act.

BJP Criticism:

The BJP, sharing the video, criticized both Kalyan Banerjee and Rahul Gandhi for mocking the Vice President. They labeled the act as “reckless and violative” and linked it to the suspension of opposition MPs.

Security Breach Fallout

The Delhi police revealed that the parliament security breach was a well-coordinated and meticulously planned event by six people. The motive was to draw attention to issues like unemployment, farmers’ plight, and the situation in Manipur. Parliament has since tightened security protocols.

PM Modi’s Response

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his first remarks on the security breach, termed it “very serious.” He emphasized the need for a detailed investigation rather than debate and expressed concern over the incident.
