In a tragic incident today, terrorists targeted and shot dead a retired police officer, Mohammed Shafi, while he was offering prayers at a mosque in Gantmulla, Sheeri Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir. The assailants fired on Shafi during the Azan, leading to his unfortunate demise.
The Kashmir Zone Police promptly responded to the incident, cordoning off the area to conduct investigations. The targeted attack on Shri Mohd Shafi adds to a concerning pattern of violence against police officers in the Valley over the last few months.
