Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Alexis Rivas, co-founder and CEO of US-based home design startup Cover, commended the creative design of KIA’s T2, declaring it the most distinctive airport he has visited. In his post, Rivas expressed a desire to witness more creativity and boldness in airport designs, emphasizing the impact they can have on making a strong first impression.

Responding to a suggestion to explore Berlin’s Brandenberg Airport, Rivas compared it to Bengaluru’s T2, asserting the latter’s superiority in his opinion. While acknowledging the distinct formal style of Brandenberg, Rivas emphasized that it doesn’t make as strong an impression as Bengaluru’s airport.

In his appreciation for India’s growth, Rivas highlighted the impressive rate and scale of infrastructure construction across major Indian cities, with 24/7 construction activities. He underscored India’s leapfrogging advancements in various areas and expressed optimism about the country’s future impact on a global scale.

Notably, Kempegowda International Airport’s Terminal 2 is the sole Indian airport to be recognized by UNESCO, covering an expansive area of 2,55,661 square meters. Built on foundational pillars of technological leadership, a garden-themed terminal, environmental stewardship, and celebration of Karnataka’s heritage, T2 reflects a blend of modernity and cultural richness.

The recent accolades and international acclaim reinforce Kempegowda International Airport’s position as one of the world’s most aesthetically pleasing and creatively designed airports, making it a standout in the global aviation landscape.
