In a heartbreaking turn of events, a Pennsylvania family is gripped by tragedy as six of its members, including three children, are feared dead following a devastating house fire and a subsequent gunfight. The incident, which unfolded on Lewis Avenue, has left two police officers injured, with investigators suspecting foul play in the deliberately started fire.

Details of the Incident

Police were summoned to Lewis Avenue after reports of an argument escalated into a dire situation. Gunshots were heard, leading to a house fire that claimed the lives of three adults and three children, as stated by Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer.

Gunman Identified

The alleged gunman, identified as Canh Le, 43, was reportedly recognized by his own mother, Chin Le, who witnessed the horrifying events unfold. According to CNN, Chin Le overheard her son arguing with her 13-year-old niece and threatening to retrieve a gun. In response, Chin Le and her husband evacuated the premises, with her husband promptly dialing 911. Tragically, her son Xuong Le, along with his wife Britni Le and their three children, Xavier (10), NaKayla (13), and Talya (17), are reported to have lost their lives.

Eyewitness Accounts

A neighbor who was present at the scene described the chaos, stating, “I heard a lot of gunshots as I just came from the store, and then I smelled the smoke about 10 minutes later. And I just saw cops come everywhere, running in their vests, and everything, yelling ‘active shooter, get in the house, barricade, don’t come out.'”

Another neighbor, Derrick Richardson, captured footage of the harrowing incident on his phone, describing it as “very scary.” He detailed the intense police response, with officers surrounding the area, guns drawn, and the sound of gunshots echoing through the neighborhood.

Injured Police Officers

The tragic incident also left two responding police officers injured. Officer David Schiazza from the Lansdowne Police Department sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, while Officer John Meehan from the East Lansdowne Police Department underwent lengthy surgery for a gunshot wound to his left arm.

The community mourns the loss of six lives in this devastating event, while investigators work diligently to unravel the circumstances surrounding the intentionally set fire and the ensuing violence.
