Unanimous Selection of Lord Ram Lalla Idol for Pran Pratishtha in Ayodhya

In a significant development for the construction of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the trustee of Ram Janmbhoomi Teertha Kshetra, Bimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, announced that the meticulous selection process for the idol of Lord Ram Lalla has been successfully concluded. The unanimously chosen idol is set to be brought for the auspicious ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony next month.

The decision was reached during a meeting held by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust on Friday, where the focus was on finalizing the idol that would grace the sanctum sanctorum of the grand temple. Bimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra revealed that the selection process involved a unique approach, emphasizing that the chosen idol should evoke a sense of mesmerization upon first sight.

“Even if multiple idols are placed together, the eyes will get fixated on the one that will be the best. And the coincidence was such that I liked an idol and gave my vote for it. Champat Rai will decide further. There was a voting system, and we gave our preferences. The idol selected unanimously will be brought for Pran Pratishtha,” he explained.

Champat Rai, the secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, plays a crucial role in the decision-making process. Earlier in the week, he had stated that a 51-inch-tall idol of Lord Ram, reflecting a five-year-old Ram Lalla, would be chosen from three designs based on divineness and a childlike appearance.

The meticulousness of the idol selection process aligns with the commitment to quality and devotion in the construction of the Ram Temple. Shri Ram Mandir Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Misra reassured that the ongoing construction work on the Ram Janmabhoomi Path and the complex is being conducted with utmost dedication.

“The work is not being done hastily, rather it is being done qualitatively by investing enough time into it,” Misra emphasized during an inspection conducted on Thursday.

The consecration ceremony, scheduled over seven days starting on January 16, will culminate on January 22. On the final day, after the morning puja, the deity of Ram Lala will be consecrated in ‘Mrigashira Nakshatra’ in the afternoon. This monumental event is eagerly anticipated, marking a historic milestone in the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
